The new cases reported for the same period were 1,770. In its weekly pandemic statistics, data from the BC Center for Disease Control show that 364 people have been hospitalized and 36 of them have been in intensive care since Thursday. Statistics from the center say that 91 percent of those 18 years of age and older have received two doses of the vaccine. Those in the five- to 11-year-old age group who have had two vaccinations are now 40 percent. Omicron remains the most common variant of infection among the inhabitants of BC.
