A head-on collision on the Trans-Canada Highway on Sunday claimed the life of one person. Salmon Arm RCMP say at approximately 11 p.m., a Toyota operated by a local male driver was traveling west on Tappen when witnesses observed the car cross the center line into the path of an eastbound semi. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, says Sgt. Scott West. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured. The highway was closed overnight and fully reopened by 3am after the investigation was completed.
