One person is in custody after a tense situation on the Avalon Peninsula. RCMP were called to the scene of a cabin in the Fox Marsh Road area of Mahers around 5:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon. Police were at the scene for almost twelve hours and one person was taken into custody just after 04:00 this morning. While police say there was no threat to public safety, people were asked to avoid the area. No further details are available at this time.
