Police are investigating both attacks at Mann Meats & Indian Cuisine, which were caught on camera. The first attack took place on Saturday. The video shows a person running into the storefront at 3315 34 St. NW before throwing a package through the windows of the business. Instead of shattering the glass, it bounces and catches fire on the ground. Owner Gurdeep Mann said he was lucky the Molotov cocktails didn’t break, as a deliveryman was sitting inside, just three feet from the window. “This is very scary,” he commented. Then on Monday, security footage captured the moment someone runs behind the business, appears to smash the front door with a rock, light the improvised bomb and throw it at the door. They then run in the same direction they came from. The flames initially burn as high as the door frame, but eventually simmer. According to Mann, the rock broke the outer glass, but not the inner glass, so the damage was minimal. However, the business owner said: “This is very scary and dangerous for anyone [is] walking in, for our clients and customers and especially for the area as well as the people of Edmonton. someone just comes with a bomb bottle and throws it into the building.” The Edmonton Police Service has not released any information other than that patrol officers have been instructed to visit the area at night and “are on the lookout for anything suspicious.” Mann put the videos on Facebook in hopes that someone will identify the person he believes attacked his store twice. “We don’t understand why anyone would do this. They should be arrested.” With files from Galen McDougall of CTV News Edmonton
