Owami Davies, 24, left her family home on July 4 in Grays, Essex, and was last seen in Derby Road, West Croydon, south London, on July 7. The Metropolitan Police said it was a missing persons investigation. A 32-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in South Croydon remains in custody. Two other men, aged 27 and 23, were arrested in the Croydon area for the same offence. Owami’s mother, Nicol Davies, told the PA news agency: “It’s obvious that somebody out there has seen something, somebody out there knows something, somebody out there heard something. “Please, I’m asking for the public’s help, from the world, to say if you know, if you’ve heard of her or seen her or happened to you, please speak up. All we really want is to find her, all we need is for her to come home or find out where she is.” She added: “I’m sitting here as a desperate mother at the mercy of anyone who knows or has heard anything to help me find my baby, that’s all I’m asking, just help find him. “Or she, if she’s somewhere and hears this, please come home. We miss her so much, her brothers and I miss her, we need her. We’re not done, we just want him to come home and, again, if he’s listening he should know he’s okay.” She said her daughter was “really happy” and was about two months into her studies and had recently secured a job at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital in London. She said her daughter had worked in A&E during the Covid-19 pandemic and was interested in doing disease research. Police released images of Owami on the night she was last seen in a shop and CCTV where she was seen walking in Derby Road. Officers want to speak to the driver of a white van which was parked in Derby Road, adding that the student nurse was with a man and crossed the road just as he was getting out. The force believe the driver of the van would have had a good chance of seeing them both clearly and are appealing for that potential witness to come forward.
