Owami Davies, 24, from Grays, Essex, ran away from her family home almost a month ago on July 4. He was last seen shortly after midnight in Derby Road, West Croydon, on July 7 but has not been seen since. The force said a 32-year-old man was arrested at an address in South Croydon on Tuesday in connection with her disappearance. It follows the arrest of two men, aged 23 and 27, in the Croydon area on suspicion of murder on Monday. They remain in custody at a south London police station. Detectives from the Met’s Special Crime Squad were searching a property in Derby Road on Wednesday as part of their inquiries. The property has been cordoned off and two gazebo tents have been set up on the side of the house and the front door window has been broken. Omolade, 28, a student who lives next door and did not want to give his last name, said police turned up at the house around 3am on Sunday. He said he has seen a “woman and a young man” living there, adding: “They are a family.” Asked about living next to a potential crime scene, she said: “It’s a bit scary because you just don’t really know who your neighbors are. “I don’t talk to them or anything, but at least it’s scary, like living next door to someone you don’t know anything about – it’s just scary.” Announcing the latest arrest, the Met Police said: “This remains a missing person investigation and our priority is to find Owami.” The force added: “Owami’s family is being informed of the progress of the investigation.” Witnesses or anyone with any information about Ms Davies’ whereabouts can call police on 101 quoting reference 22MIS025307 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
