Craig Cope, 80, is recovering after reportedly suffering a heart attack during the ordeal at the Norco Market & Liquor store in Norco, California. And the entire dramatic incident was caught on store surveillance cameras, FOX11 reports. Police say four male suspects in a black BMW SUV attempted to rob the store around 2:45 a.m. Sunday. The video shows a male suspect in a red and black hoodie and balaclava enter the store and point a gun at Mr Cope. He immediately grabbed a shotgun from under the counter and opened fire on the suspect, who fled the store. “He shot me in the arm,” the injured suspect can be heard yelling as he returned to the car. The suspects were then taken to a Southern California hospital, with one suffering from a gunshot wound. Police say the other three suspects were at the hospital in the getaway vehicle, which had been reported stolen. Investigators say the vehicle contained a number of stolen guns. Justin Johnson, 22, of Inglewood, Jamar Williams, 27, of Los Angeles, and Davon Broadus, 24, of Las Vegas, were arrested in the hospital parking lot and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for robbery and conspiracy. Officials say the main suspect, who has not yet been named, is a 23-year-old man who remains hospitalized in stable condition. Mr. Cope also remains in the hospital recovering, according to FOX11. “In this case, a legally armed member of our community prevented a violent crime and ensured his safety while confronted by multiple armed suspects,” the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.
