Firefighters were called to the scene in Galpin’s Road in Thornton Heath just after 7am. Three people were rescued from the wreckage, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) said. A ten-year-old girl was rushed to hospital with a serious leg injury after the crash outside the Rockstone pub on Monday. Her sisters, aged 11 and 12, suffered minor injuries. At the time they were crossing Onslow Road in Southampton with their mum. Kevin Bellington, 54, was working in a nearby garage when he saw the incident at around 4.40pm. He said: “I heard the engine roaring down the hill and as I turned I saw the rear wheel come off the ground before hitting the young lady as she crossed the road....

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) issued an evacuation order for the area on Monday morning due the Keremeos Creek Fire southwest of Penticton, BC, in the southern interior of the province. Dozens of other Apex Mountain properties are on evacuation alert also. The ski resort is using its snow machines to shoot fog at the buildings in an attempt to protect them from the blaze. James Salman, the resort’s general manager, said RCMP were going door-to-door with the evacuation order on Monday....
