Officers were called to an address on New Lane in Breightmet, Bolton, at about 1:50 p.m. on Friday (April 15) in response to a report of a man being injured by a dog. During the incident, the dog was fatally injured.

A woman has also been arrested on suspicion of assault under Article 18 and dangerous dog offenses. The man was released on bail and the woman was released under investigation, according to police. A spokesman for the Greater Manchester Police Department said: “We were called around 1.50pm. Friday, April 15 in a report about a man injured by a dog at an address in New Lane, Bolton. “During the incident, the dog was fatally injured before police arrived. A man was arrested on suspicion of criminal harm and a woman was arrested on suspicion of Article 18 assault and dangerous dog offenses. “The man was released on bail and the woman was released under investigation.
