Metropolitan police officers had stopped the Ford Transit as it appeared to be driving erratically through Stockwell, south London. After being pulled over, the driver of the vehicle reversed into the patrol in an attempt to escape. A police officer was taken to hospital for treatment for head and arm injuries, but has now been discharged. Another police officer was seen by paramedics at the scene. Police investigated the area after the incident, but the truck has not been located. An investigation is being carried out to locate and locate those involved. In a statement, Metropolitan Police said: “Officers are appealing to the public for help in locating a dump truck that crashed into a police car in Lambeth on Friday. At around 22:50 on Friday, April 15, police at a marked patrol on Landor Road in Stockwell instructed a yellow-and-white Ford Transit dump truck to stop. “This was a normal traffic stop, which started due to the way we drove and the damage to the vehicle. “Instead of stopping, the truck sped back into the hood of the police car. “The impact was significant, causing extensive damage.” Police said the truck, which is yellow and black with a damaged mirror on one side, is believed to be FA04 UZW – although the F is missing from the rear license plate. Anyone who sees it is kindly requested to call 999. Anyone with other information should call 101. Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
