The Invictus Games kicked off on Saturday with a car hurdle ahead of the inaugural opening ceremony attended by the race founder, Prince Harryand his wife Megan Markle. Harry founded the Invictus Games to help heal injured or sick military members and veterans by challenging them to compete in Paralympic-like sporting events. This year’s competition takes place in the Dutch city of The Hague. Before the opening ceremony, he approached the action when he was driven around the stadium with obstacles. The couple later nodded to spectators as they drove around in tiny Land Rover cars with children at the wheel. On Friday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, also known as Harry and Megan, attended a welcoming event for competitors and their friends and family, with them at the event, which runs through April 22.
