According to RCMP, about 70 vehicles have been pulled to the side of the highway near Innisfail, Alta., after golf ball-sized hail hit tennis balls. Officers began responding to reports of stranded drivers due to hail damage after 6 p.m. Mounties began checking for injuries and transporting injured motorists. No injuries were reported as of publication. According to the Prairie and Arctic Storm Prediction Centre, “very unstable” atmospheric conditions in central Alberta during Monday fueled the development of strong storms – several of which prompted tornado warnings and emergency alerts.
