Britain’s Queen Elizabeth will not attend the traditional Easter Sunday service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor as she continues to struggle with her health, Buckingham Palace announced on Thursday. The announcement comes shortly after it was confirmed that the Queen’s son, Prince Charles of Wales, and Camilla’s wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, will also be absent from the Easter service. The 95-year-old monarch, who will be celebrating her 96th birthday next week, has been battling mobility problems for months, with reports saying she used an electric golf cart to move around easily. She has also retired from several royal engagements in recent months, most recently the church service on Thursday, where Charles represented her. Her forced absence from the event is said to have left the queen feeling “deeply disappointed”.
