The incident occurred on the Wabasca First Nation northeast of Slave Lake. “The RCMP collision reconstructionist will be attending and it is expected that this section of the highway will be impassable for some time,” Desmarais RCMP said in a news release. Police have not said if the death is being treated as suspicious at this time and are asking people to avoid the area.
