The RCMP’s Southeast District Major Crime Unit says the body was recovered around 1:30 p.m., at the west end of the William Bennett Bridge near the Shelter Bay Marina. Police say the tip came in at 1:16 p.m. with officers going to the scene and finding the body in shallow water. A heavy police presence was noted during the recovery.

The investigation was undertaken by the Major Crime Unit of the Southeast Region. They and the BC coroner’s office are working to determine the cause of death and any criminality. Trending Stories

The man was wearing a black collared shirt and black pants.
