From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
I want to offer words of encouragement to the President, and I contacted Molly for this purpose. This does not have to be a dichotomy between (1) direct concession and (2) destroying the credibility of the electoral process.
Note: Lee’s reference to “Molly” most likely refers to Molly Michael, Trump’s executive assistant.

There is a third way of exhausting legal remedies when cooperating with the transitional process

Please give this to the President:

Sydney Powell says she has to come in to see the president, but they keep her away. He obviously has a strategy to keep things alive and bring several states back into the game. Can you help her get in?
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
It was at the request of the president that Sydney devised a strategy and tried to come in to see him. But he is kept out.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
[Powell email address][Powell phone number] Sidney Powell
Note: Sidney Powell was a pro-Trump lawyer involved in trying to overthrow the 2020 presidential election.

From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
We had a meeting of CPI executives tonight with Sidney Powell as our guest speaker. My purpose in the meeting was to mingle with Republican senators that POTUS should seek legal redress. You have a group of ready and loyal supporters in us who are going to hit him, but I am afraid that this may prove to be short-lived if you do not hire the right legal team and release them immediately.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
Sidney told us that campaign lawyers I do not know do not focus on this and hinder progress. I have no way of confirming or denying it on my own, but I have found it to be a straight shooter. In any case, these actions must be archived and announced in the next 48 hours, otherwise the dynamics of public relations that we must have behind us will begin to disintegrate.

I have a simple question: how many vbm ballots were thrown in PA and WI because they did not meet the requirements of state law? I can not find the statistics anywhere. But in the qualifiers it was above the current winning margin with a much lower turnout. If they played games with him Trump has a very strong case.
Note: “vbm” probably refers to ballot papers by ballot.

I’m worried about Powell ‘s press conference.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
The potential liability for defamation of the president is significant here
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
For the campaign and for the president personally
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
Unless Powell can support everything he said, which I doubt he can
From Mark Meadows to Mike Lee
Agree. Very troubled
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
The temptation will be to do nothing at this time.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
I’m not sure doing nothing is a good choice
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
Unless Powell can immediately substantiate what she said today, the president will probably have to distance himself and refute any allegations that cannot be substantiated.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
It has deep pockets and the accusations made by Powell are very, very serious
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
This is a particularly bad combination considering the damage that could easily be claimed (and indeed proven) and the deep pockets involved.

There are some of us in the Senate who want to be helpful (although I feel that number may be declining).

In the meantime, we are struggling to figure out how to respond to things like this:

I am working on it. I’m not sure what to suggest

From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
If you’ve not watched tonight’s Life, Liberty and Levin episode, you should do so if you can match it. Mark Levin supports the need for litigation over these elections.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
I also have an extra idea for the campaign. Something is wrong in some states. I think it could be easily proven or disproved by a check (physical count of all ballots cast) in PA, WI, GA and MI.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
John Eastman has some really interesting research on this. The good news is that Eastman is proposing an approach that, contrary to what Sidney Powell has proposed, could be considered very quickly.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
But to do that, you have to act very soon. Some believe that today may be the deadline for some of them in the PA.

If in a very small handful of states their legislatures had to designate alternate lists of representatives, there could be a way out.
From Mark Meadows to Mike Lee
I have been working on this since yesterday

From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
Also, if you want senators to object, we need to hear from you about ideally getting some guidance on the arguments we need to make.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
I think we have now overcome the point where we can expect someone to do it without any direction and strong argument.

From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
I have serious concerns about the way my friend Ted is making this effort.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
This will not be to the benefit of the president.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
Everything changes, of course, if swing states submit competing voter lists under state law.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
But if not, it could help people like Ted and Josh at the expense of DJT.
Note: “Ted and Josh” most likely refers to Republican senators Ted Cruz of Texas and Josh Hawley of Missouri.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
I do not think the president understands the distinction between what we can do and what he would like us to do. Nor do I think he understands the distinction between what some members say sounds like they could help him, but they will really hurt him. He has a very real chance for a victory in 2024. This opportunity could hurt this effort in many ways.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
Again, all of this could change if those states certified Trump voters under state law. But in the absence of this, this attempt is destined not only to fail, but to harm the DJT in the process.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
Between you and me, I’m afraid that for some this might be a feature, not a mistake.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
There are many others, perhaps, who support this strategy with the best of intentions, but without fully understanding the implications.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
I do not want to know who belongs to which category. All I know is that this will end badly for the president, unless we have the Constitution on our side. And unless these states submit new Trump voter lists under state law, we do not.
From Mike Lee to Mark Meadows
Then we have to chat. I would like it to be proved wrong about my concerns. But I really believe that all this could work badly, unless we have trump cards (based on a conclusion that this was the right result under state law). Even if we put aside the constitutional concerns, this will be detrimental to the president if we do not channel this effort properly. We simply have no power to reject a state’s validated ballot papers in the absence of duel situations, with the Trump table coming from a legislative definition of the state.

Should I take it as a good sign that he is taking it?
