Two ambulances attended West Blackhall Road at 5pm today after a man hit the pavement while climbing a drain. An eyewitness, who did not want to be named, told the Tele that the man was trying to reach the window of a top-floor property when he fell. They said: “He was trying to climb up the plastic guttering on the outside of the building. “It got quite high and then the pipe broke. “I saw him go straight down, land on his head, but he was moving and moaning on the ground.” Another eyewitness said they had seen people nearby rushing to help the injured man. They added: ‘People were checking on him before the ambulance arrived. “The doctors were working on him on the floor for a while. “There was a lot of blood, I hope he’s okay.” There is currently no update on the man’s condition.
