The Carolina Panthers remain in the discussion of possible destinations for General Baker Mayfield. Panthers receiver Robby Anderson is not a fan of this possibility. Via USA Today, an Instagram fan account posted a report from NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport that the Panthers are the most likely destination for Mayfield. Anderson replied with one word: “No!” Here is the reality. Players talk to other players. And there is not a single Brown player who has spoken on behalf of Mayfield, in every upset and turn of a crazy out of season. More recently, for example, Mayfield said he believed the Browns did not respect him. As far as we know, no current or former Browns player has publicly agreed with Mayfield. There must be a reason for Anderson’s hostility to Mayfield. Maybe he’s talked to Odell Beckham Jr. or someone else who has played with Mayfield. Someone like Jarvis Landry, pictured talking to Anderson. If there is something in this, then the question is whether other players with other teams will feel the same. It’s a fair question, whatever the answer. And it could become a very real obstacle to Mayfield’s ability to pursue his career anywhere.
