Wiegman had returned to the Netherlands for a week during warm-up camps for the tournament after her sister’s death and the team rallied behind their coach, wearing black armbands for their match against Belgium. The 52-year-old was seen kissing a bracelet on her wrist during the celebrations after the final whistle. “I kiss this little armlet [bracelet] — It was my sister’s and she died during the preparation for the tournament,” Wiegman said. “I think it was here, it was on the post. She’d be here, she’d be really proud of me and I’m proud of her.”
