He said on the show: “I traveled for 15 days, but it seemed like a year. My grandfather was always really religious and I said a prayer when I was in a sad place, but I did not really know what my religion was and I wanted to know what religion meant to me.
“It was really challenging. I’m usually on my phone or chatting with my friends, but I’ve taken the time to think now.

“Now I would say I am a Christian. Now I’m still used to it. “We went to live with some monks and talked about our beliefs and I was defending my religion and beliefs and then I thought it must mean a lot to me.”
The seven pilgrims who make the pilgrimage also include interior designer and presenter Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, English cricket legend Monty Panesar and actress Louisa Clein, best known for starring in Emmerdale.
