Major Trevor Reid, Senior Public Affairs Officer with the Trenton Joint Rescue Coordination Center, says visibility conditions have become significantly clearer compared to the last days of their search. “The weather has improved a bit, so it definitely helps our ability to search,” says Reid. “Last night we did a CC130H Hercules to do a night search, but unfortunately it did not work.” The same seven search and rescue aircraft from Saturday have flown into the skies today to continue their efforts to locate the missing. Reid noted that their research is mainly limited to the air, as the ground is incredibly hilly with lots of trees and snow in some areas. Reed could not confirm the identity of the missing couple, but comments on Facebook from family and friends noted that John Fair and pilot Brian Slingerland were the two men on the missing plane. Meanwhile, in a Facebook post this morning, Mary Reimer – the sister of the missing John Fehr – hopes her brother and the pilot will be safe, despite the harsh reality that time is running out fast. Her post says: “John Fair (my brother) and his friend Brian Slingerland are still missing despite their ongoing search since Thursday night. Today is the first day they will have a clear day to look right. They have saved some resources for today. Let us pray fervently for the weather to continue and for God to give researchers direction on where to look. I still pray for a miracle that could be found alive, although despair draws quite strongly from the other side. We know that GOD knows and wants to trust him for the result. Please keep Johns Lisa’s wife and Brian Sue’s wife in your prayers as well as their children. “Waiting and not knowing is so incredibly difficult.”
