Why is the April full moon called the Pink Full Moon?
The Full Pink Moon is not really pink, although it may look like that in some photos. According to NASA, Farmer’s Almanac has adopted a Native American full moon naming system each month. Pink Moon is named after the moss pink herb, a plant native to the eastern United States that blooms in early spring. Other names for the plant are creeping phlox, moss phlox or mountain phlox.
