With the UK having the hottest days of the year so far this holiday weekend, visitors flock to the picturesque Snowdonia National Park in Wales to make the most of the sun. But that meant Gemma Davies, a Snowdon driver, had to help groups of people avoid human feces. Mrs. Davies rode at sunrise on Wales’s highest mountain on Saturday morning and was shocked by what she encountered on the descent. He said he even saw a man defecate on the mountain railway at noon, and had to “pass by him”. He told the BBC he saw “many stools in paper cups, under stones”. But Snowdonia National Park Authority said nothing unusual had been reported. A problem with reckless parking was also pointed out at the Welsh tourist hotspot. Rebecca Williams, assistant director of the National Trust Cymru, told the BBC that creating a tourist offering that “all year round, all year and not just this Easter weekend” could help better manage these natural beauty sites. “If we want to make tourism sustainable [we need] “to ensure that it is coordinated, controlled and that we work with communities to ensure that communities are not left to manage the burden,” he told BBC Radio Wales. The sunny weather is expected to last only until Monday, as meteorologists told the sun seekers to “make the most of the weekend” in view of the drop in temperature next week.
