Full details are being kept under wraps for now, but there are rumors that Samsung is set to refresh its entire Galaxy Flip and Galaxy Fold smartphone lineup at the August keynote. If you’re not ready with those phones, the Galaxy Fold opens like a book to reveal a tablet-style display, while the Flip has a more typical smartphone display that folds in half to make it more pocket-friendly. To add fuel to the fire regarding upcoming releases, an invitation released by Samsung also shows the famous Flip device opening up to reveal its Unpacked date. Full details will be revealed later this week, but there is already a lot of speculation that these foldable phones will have an improved design, more powerful processors, better cameras and longer battery life. We’ll bring you all the details on these upgrades live from Wednesday’s launch event. Any updates are sure to boost the popularity of these devices. Samsung recently revealed that the foldable market is booming with the film seeing an impressive 300% increase in sales in the past year alone. That means Samsung has managed to ship over 10 million foldables with that number growing even further. In fact, Samsung now predicts that this rapid growth will continue and is set to make a much bigger dent in the overall smartphone market in the coming years. Speaking about the boom in foldables, Samsung President and Head of MX Business, Dr. TM Roh said: “We saw an opportunity to not only design a new shape but also create new experiences that were never possible with a smartphone before. “Overcoming many technological hurdles, we successfully introduced the first foldable Galaxy smartphone in 2019 and have since changed the future of our industry.” Watch this space if you want a new Galaxy Flip or Fold in your pocket. The Unpacked event starts at 15:00 this Wednesday, August 10th.
