Moving on to Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, Liverpool and Manchester City will both try to go one step closer to history as the Reds try to win an unprecedented Quadruple, while Pep Guardiola’s side could to get three trophies from now until the end of the season.
City currently have a one-point advantage over Merseyside in the Premier League and the two teams look set to face each other in next month’s Champions League final.
So Sportsmail experts Micah Richards, Peter Crouch, Chris Sutton and Martin Keown predict which teams will add more silver to their collection in the final weeks of the campaign …
Manchester City and Liverpool could now fight each other in three tournaments
PREMIER LEAGUE
MICAH RICHARDS – MAN CITY
Liverpool have something that seems to be the slightly more difficult games and I do not see City losing their grip on a title challenge that remains in their hands.
PETER CROUCH – MAN CITY
They have the most comfortable run and Pep Guardiola manages to beat City in the league so steadily that you can not look beyond it.
CHRIS SATON – LIVERPOOL
It’s so hard to call and City have the easiest game, but I have a feeling there will be a reversal – and Liverpool’s deep power will allow them to beat City.
Kevin De Bruyne scored the opening goal in the pulsating draw of the two sides last Sunday
MARTIN COUNTY – MAN CITY
I gave information to City at the beginning of the season and I will not change my mind now. It is a remarkable team that works under a great coach and you will not let it win its last seven games.
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE
RICHARDS – MAN CITY
I believe this will be the year for City, although a lot depends on the fitness of Kevin De Bruyne and Kyle Walker, who will be a significant loss for as long as they are on the sidelines. If they do not return quickly, I would give a tip to Liverpool.
KRAUSS – LIVERPOOL
It’s an experience, isn’t it? They have gone there and done it again under Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are such a disastrous cup team.
Liverpool have already won the Champions League under Jürgen Klopp and will then play Villarreal
SUTTON – MAN CITY
Guardiola’s men can no longer stay in the Champions League. The victory over Atletico Madrid showed real endurance and could be an indication that this is City’s season.
KEOWN – MAN CITY
City just had an epic battle with Atletico. But they will have time to catch their breath and go to the Champions League again and I think now is their time to win this tournament.
FA Cup
RICHARD – LIVERPOOL
They reach Wembley on Saturday without a defeat in 2022 and will have been greatly enhanced by their performance in the second half at the Etihad last weekend.
With City missing key players, I believe they can cross the line.
KRAUSS – CHELSEA
The eyes of the other two big ones, Liverpool and City, are looking at bigger prizes and I think that will give Chelsea a chance to get that.
Chelsea could prevent both sides from making a clean sweep as they are still in the FA Cup
SATON – LIVERPOOL
They will expel City without De Bruyne and Walker and with the advantage of resting key players in the Champions League during the week.
Sorry for Chelsea and Crystal Palace, but I think the winner has to come from this semi-final.
KEUN – LIVERPOOL
The situation in the Liverpool semi-final with City is better for Klopp and his players. They were able to make changes for their clash with Benfica, while City lost key players in their tough match against Atletico. So Liverpool is an advantage.
