The two teams combined to score 24 points in the fourth quarter, with Smith scoring in 2 yards of touchdown with 29 seconds left. Smith’s score, a few moments after the Generals took the lead in Nick Rose’s goal in 47 yards, with 1:54 left. Smith then led the stallions to a 59-yard victory, recording their first win of the 2022 USFL season. The Generals lost despite gaining an impressive 222 yards including 98 yards and a score from General De’Andre Johnson.
Saturday’s fight started with dynamism, with Generals general Luis Perez hitting Randy Satterfield for a 48-yard win in the first game of scrimmage. The journey ended with Sutherfield catching a 3-yard touchdown despite the fact that he made a nasty lick from a Stallions defender.
The Stallions responded with their own big game, a 35-yard touchdown pass from Alex McGough to Osirus Mitchell less than four minutes after the game. New Jersey regained the lead by taking advantage of Shalom Luani’s safety early in the second half. Facing a third and 7th from the Stallions’ 13-yard line, Perez rolled to his right before hitting Braedon Bowman in the final zone for the score.
Led by Johnson and Trey Williams running back, the Generals played 12 games to start the second half that ended with Rose – who missed a 47-yard touchdown run in the final game of the first half – losing 22 – goal effort on the field. The Stallions responded with a nine-game, 80-yard game, which was scored by CJ Marable’s 3-yard touchdown series that tied the game. Successive additions by J’Mar Smith to Mitchell for 44 yards made the score.

Rose then gave the Generals a 24-21 lead before Smith completed a two-minute win-win exercise.
