The attack occurred around 4.30 p.m. on Friday, in the public restrooms on the east side of The Meadows near Hope Park Terrace. A 14-year-old boy was approached by a man and sexually assaulted. A member of the public went to the toilets and the man left and went to the crossroads on Hope Park Terrace. The suspect is described as white, about 5 feet 6 inches, thin, with white straws and about 70 years old. He was wearing a dark jacket and trousers and a straight hat. He also used a cane.

Detective Inspector Grand Patterson said: “This attack has left the teenager extremely upset. We have patrol officers in the area and if anyone has any concerns please talk to them or call us. “This part of The Meadows would be busy and I ask anyone who has seen this person or who may know who he is to get in touch. “Specifically, I ask the public who went to the toilets as it happened to come in contact. “You may have information that is vital to our research.” Anyone who can help is kindly requested to contact the Scottish Police at 101, citing incident number 2466 on Friday, April 15th.
