Residents in the area heard “screams” and said they saw dozens of people on the street shortly before the attack on Saturday night.
A resident of Baguley Lane, Sale, said a quarrel broke out outside a house on nearby Royton Avenue, where a child’s birthday party was taking place. Mike Grimshaw, 34, died after being stabbed in the neck on Royton Avenue in July 2017. A Manchester Crown Court trial later said he was fatally stabbed moments after questioning his alleged killer for telling his partner to “exclude”.
