The general manager of a Texas barbecue restaurant says a thief stole nearly $3,000 worth of brisket on the morning of August 4th. Alison Clem, general manager of la Barbecue in Austin, Texas, said 20 briskets were stolen by someone who jumped a fence around 4 a.m. and ran toward the smoker, according to FOX 7. Clem said she believes the thief planned the theft. “We’re kind of speculating that he was being watched. You know, someone who was probably cooking for us. We haven’t had a turnover at our house since we’ve been here, so it wouldn’t be relevant. So it’s also kind of weird that he knew,” Clem said. So I really think it was planned,” Clem said. The cost of the meat, according to Clem, is $3,000 when seasonings and labor are factored in, she said. I don’t know, she even parties. I have no idea,” Clem said. Adam Sabes is a writer for Fox News Digital. Story tips can be sent to [email protected] and on Twitter @asabes10.
