Now it looks like we have a look at the colors the new models will be wearing and it’s pretty cool. Here is… For the iPhone 14, there will be six colors at launch. It’s the same number available for the iPhone 13 now. And it is, white, black, green, red, blue and purple. There are four things to note here. First, these aren’t the names Apple is definitely going to call them. The current line has no black and white options, instead calling the darkest shade Midnight and the luxurious gold and silver finish with a white back Starlight. Additionally, there is no red in the current range, but rather PRODUCT(RED) indicating that the money is being donated to a worthy cause. I think PRODUCT(RED) and Midnight will definitely be the color names, and I’d be surprised if Starlight, given its success, isn’t there. Blue and Green would be the names of these shades, I would say. iPhone 13 in pink — is this color going to drop? apple The second thing to note is that there is a new color here, purple, replacing the current pink, although it seems to have been quite popular (it’s a very cute shade of pastel pink). But purple is certainly welcome. It’s not the first purple. There was a purple iPhone 11 and a darker version of the same name for the iPhone 12. Both were more lilac than purple to be brutally honest. So maybe 2022 will be the first time there will be a deep, visceral purple. We’ll see. Third, and this also applies to the Pro colors, none of them will be identical to the current versions. Every year, Apple changes the colors, even if the names stay the same. Even the PRODUCT(RED) is slightly different from year to year and I would expect the same this time. Fourth, note that the iPhone 13 was released in five colors, not six as predicted here. The sixth color, green, was added mid-year. The iPhone 12 came in five colors, but the iPhone 11 appeared in six at launch, so it’s not impossible. On the iPhone 14 Pro, then. The new colors, as predicted, will be Green, Silver, Gold, Graphite and Purple. I’m sure Silver, Gold and Graphite will be correct (although Graphite could just have a name revision). And a new Purple makes sense, although I think it will have a different name and probably a different shade than the iPhone 14. The green will replace the current Alpine Green. But I’d just like to point out that there’s never been five Pro colors at launch before, it’s always been four since the Pro was introduced in 2019. Alpine Green was added to the lineup just a few months ago. It’s not impossible, but I add the tiniest hint of skepticism here.
