Police arrived at the area an hour later and discovered an unresponsive person on a nearby beach.
Const. Ashley Nickle with the OPP detachment at Wawa confirmed the victim had died.
Nickle could not release the victim’s identity or how he died, as the sudden death investigation remains active.
The Montreal River Port is located approximately 120 km north of the Sault.
