Vancouver police released the information Saturday, saying he died of fentanyl poisoning. “This is heartbreaking news for everyone who knew and loved Tatiana and for the many strangers who came together to look for her when she disappeared,” said Const. Tania Visintin, spokeswoman for the Vancouver Police Department. “While we are now able to provide some answers, many questions remain and we will continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Tatiana’s disappearance.” Her mother, Natasha Harrison, had reported Harrison missing on May 3 after she had not been reported since late March. VPD investigators believe Harrison, who police described as a 20-year-old native, had moved to Vancouver from Surrey several weeks before her disappearance.

She last texted her mother from somewhere in the Downtown Eastside on March 24. On June 25, police and Natasha Harrison released a video of her last known movements in the Downtown Eastside, urging anyone with information about her disappearance to come forward. The BC Coroners Service notified police Friday that a body found May 2 in Richmond has been positively identified, according to Visintin. “Tragically, we now believe that Tatiana died in another city before she was reported missing,” Visindin said. The medical examiner’s office told police that Harrison died of drug toxicity, specifically fentanyl, he added.
