EXCLUSIVE: Video footage taken Friday appears to show scores of immigrants entering St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Washington, D.C., as truckloads of people who entered America illegally continue to arrive in the nation’s capital. Just feet away from the church’s entrance Friday, the video, first obtained by Fox News Digital, shows migrants lined up and walking on a sidewalk as they wait to enter the church. St. Peter’s recently launched efforts to provide assistance to immigrants bussed into DC In a post shared on Facebook earlier this month, the church, located steps from the Capitol and less than two miles from the headquarters of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, said it was looking for “sturdy shoes as part of efforts us for providing assistance to immigrants arriving in DC by bus.” MORE TEXAS IMMIGRANTS ARRIVE IN DC BY BUS AFTER MAYOR ASKS FOR NATIONAL GUARD HELP Video appears to show immigrants entering St. Peter’s Basilica on Capitol Hill Friday, July 29, 2022, in Washington, DC (Fox News) “Sneakers or sturdy shoes only — no flip-flops, please,” the church wrote. “Donations can be dropped off at the parish hall on Wednesday or Friday.” In an earlier post, St. Peter’s linked to a sign-up page for volunteers to help the church’s efforts to “provide meals, respite and transportation assistance to hundreds of immigrants who arrive in DC by bus every day.” DC MAYOR BOWSER ASKS FOR NATIONAL GUARD HELP WITH BUSSES OF IMMIGRANTS FROM SOUTHERN BORDER: ‘HUMANITARIAN CRISIS’ “St. Peter’s will provide space, material goods, meals and volunteers to welcome immigrants who arrive in DC by bus daily,” said a description from St. Peter’s registration page. Fox News did not immediately receive a response from DHS or St. Peter’s Church. CULTURAL DISTURBANCE AGAINST DC, NY CALLS FOR FEDERAL HELP AS IMMIGRANTS Surge Earlier this week, the DC Mayor Muriel Bowserwho has defended admitting immigrants entering the country illegally as a human rights issue, called for the D.C. National Guard to be activated indefinitely to help with what he called a “humanitarian crisis.” Both Bowser and New York Mayor Eric Adams have sounded the alarm about sending immigrants to their cities, blaming Arizona and Texas for the influx. Arizona, however, denied sending immigrants to New York.
