The child, who was confirmed to be three years old, was involved in the accident at 10.50 am. on Hyde Road, Paignton. Devon and Cornwall police confirmed that the collision took place at a crosswalk.
The road was closed for several hours while the incident was investigated. The child was seriously injured and taken to hospital with his family.
