The Toronto Blue Jays new shortstop confirmed Thursday that he is vaccinated. Merrifield, 32, was acquired by the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday. He was one of 10 Royals players unable to enter Canada last month because of his vaccination status.

Merrifield is set to make his Blue Jays debut Thursday night, playing center field and batting eighth. Merrifield will wear the No1 shirt.
