The incident took place around 3:15 am on April 14 near Spantina Avenue and King Street West.
According to investigators, a vehicle moving at high speed hit a 30-year-old pedestrian, stopped for a while and then fled the scene.
Toronto police Murray Campbell told reporters at the time that the driver “knew exactly what happened” before leaving the scene.
The vehicle was described by the police as a light-colored Mercedes convertible that would have noticeable damage to the front.
On Saturday, police released a new image of the vehicle, saying it was most likely “a white, 2019 or newer, convertible Mercedes AMG GT with a red interior and a convertible top”.
In the picture, the roof of the vehicle is lowered and a driver is shown. Police gave the public a stern description, saying only that the man has dark hair.
“The police would also encourage the man to contact a lawyer and go to the police,” investigators said in a statement.
