The Manitoba RCMP said Winnipeg Police Department officers arrested McLent in the downtown area around 8:30 a.m., saying the arrest was made without incident.
The RCMP said McLeod had been handed over to Major Crime Services.
McLeod was wanted on three counts of second-degree murder and arson, after his family was found dead early Sunday morning in a maisonette damaged by fire in Portage la Prairie.
The victims were identified as a 32-year-old woman, her six-year-old daughter and her three-year-old son.
McLeod was initially detained on Sunday but was released, with the RCMP saying he did not have enough evidence to hold him.
Upon his release, McLeod was informed that he had to stay at a specific address in Portage and that he had to stay away from the five people named in his order.
The RCMP later said McLeod was believed to be in Winnipeg and was later located in downtown on Tuesday, both at the Millennium Library and in the downtown skywalk system.
The RCMP thanked Winnipeg police for their help in the arrest and said more information would be provided when available.
The charges against McLeod have not been proven in court.
