The Metropolitan Police asked for help to locate the vehicle and the driver involved in the incident that happened on Friday morning in Stockwell, London. Police had tried to drag a yellow dump truck Ford Transit, due to damage to the vehicle and erratic driving, when the driver reversed his car at speed. Footage posted on social media showed police trying to reverse before their vehicle was struck at high speed by the reverse van, smashing the hood and leaving the horn stuck screaming. A police officer needed hospital treatment for head and arm injuries from the incident and was then discharged. A second police officer was assessed at the scene by rescuers. A police search in the area followed, but police were unable to locate the vehicle and the person behind the wheel. The investigation is ongoing. The Met described the vehicle as yellow and black, with a damaged mirror on one side, with the classification believed to be FA04 UZW, although the F was missing from the rear license plate. The van had the mark of a waste disposal company on its side, but the company owner told the Sun that he had sold the vehicle seven months ago. He said police visited him and claimed the vehicle was overturned.
