West Yorkshire Police’s Major Collision Investigation Team (MCET) would like to speak to anyone who saw or has CCTV footage of the incident which took place in Dryden Street, Bradford, last night. It happened at around 23:30, an Audi SQ5 collided with a wall after failing to negotiate a left turn. The crash happened on Dryden Street in Bradford last night The 24-year-old driver of the car was fatally injured in the collision. A second man, also aged 24, who was a passenger in the car, died, West Yorkshire Police confirmed this afternoon. A third man was also taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The two men who died in the crash have been identified locally as Mohammed Azad Khan and Arsalan Baig. Crews from Bradford, Shipley and Odsal also attended the scene. DS Fiona Allan, of the Major Collision Investigation Team, said: “A number of inquiries remain ongoing today into this clearly very serious collision which has sadly resulted in the loss of a young man’s life. “The Audi was traveling along Dryden Road, away from Shipley Airedale Road when the accident occurred and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw the car in the moments before the collision or the collision itself. “Anyone with dashcam footage and/or information is urged to contact MCET on 101 or online at westyorkshire.police.uk/101livechat. “Anyone contacting us should refer to police number 13220416812.” Councilor Nazam Azam spoke about the impact such accidents have on the families of the victims Meanwhile, a Bradford councilor has spoken of his shock at the incident and the impact such accidents on the city’s roads have on the families of the victims. Cllr Nazam Azam (Lab, City): “Too many young lives are being lost. “Too many families are going through utter devastation and avoidable trauma. “You cannot begin to imagine the devastation that the families and friends and loved ones of those involved in this incident will now be going through. “I would say to young people please for the sake of your family and your loved ones be careful on the roads. “The devastation caused to families in such incidents is unimaginable. “Families have to mourn losses like these that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. “Young people need to take responsibility and think about the impact it would have on your loved ones, family and friends. “Incidents like this are something we have to deal with in this area.”
