A cannabis shop in the Tyendinaga Territory was badly damaged by fire early on Bank Holiday Monday morning. Mohawk and Tyendinaga township firefighters were called to 364 York Road shortly before 5 a.m. where part of the Peacemaker 420 store was engulfed in flames. The flames were quickly extinguished, and Mohawk Fire Chief Scott Maracle said despite the damage, the structure was still standing and some of the products inside were saved. There was no damage to the house behind the store and no one was injured. Tyendinaga Police and the Mohawk Fire Department are investigating the cause of the fire.
