Karina Yershova, who lost her nails in the apparent struggle for her life, was found thrown in a garden in the besieged suburb of Kiev, the Telegraph reported on Wednesday. “She was shot from a distance. “Almost half of her head was missing,” Andrii, the father of the tragic woman, told the news agency. Following Yershova’s disappearance last month, her mother, Olena Dereko, asked people on social media to “help me find my daughter,” the Sun reported. A friend of the anxious mom later announced the fate of the young woman. “Friends, terrible news. Racists killed my friend’s daughter, Karina Yershova. “The pain is terrible,” Olesya Vasylets wrote on Facebook, according to the news agency. Karina Yershova was discovered with hundreds of other bodies. The family was informed that Yershova had suffered a “violent death” and had “tears and wounds” on her body, but authorities hid details and urged Olena not to see images of the body, the Telegraph reported. According to a report citing her loved ones, Karina Yershova was raped and tortured before being killed by Russian troops. Twitter “We have not seen the lower part of her body, only the upper part, but what we have seen at the top, we can only imagine what may be in the rest of her body,” said the father. The gruesome photos showed the skin on Gersova’s hands – which still had silver rings on her fingers – burned, exposing her bones, the Telegraph reported. Nine of her nails had been cut. The rest was still painted pink. “It was like she was trying to fight,” Andrii told the Telegraph, adding that Yershova also found herself with a tourniquet around her leg as she apparently tried to stop the bleeding from a gunshot wound. Nine of Karina Yershova’s nails were cut. Twitter Andrii said it was known that violent Russian troops had raped women and girls as part of their terror campaign. “I have not heard of anyone being violently killed without being raped,” he told the newspaper. “The people who were killed without haste seem to have been the ones who were bombed. “These people who were shot and tortured were raped by the soldiers almost every time,” Andrii added. Yershova, who rented an apartment from a friend, worked as a manager in a sushi shop and had plans to start her own small business. “When the full-scale invasion started, we asked her to come to Irpin, but she did not realize how serious it was,” Olena said. The day after the invasion began on February 24, the parents fled Irpin amid the bombing and were transported to Odessa. “We asked Karina to evacuate Bucha, but she did not think it would be so dangerous,” said the parents. In 2014, the family was forced to leave Donetsk when the Russians invaded and traveled to the Kiev region, where they started all over again. “I rescued our child from Donetsk in 2014, but I lost him in 2022 in the Kiev area,” said the stepfather. Karina Yershova’s parents say they asked her to evacuate Bucha, but she refused. Olena added: “How can I feel when someone took my only child? I have cried what I had. “I do not have tears now.” News of Yershova’s brutal death comes amid reports that monstrous Russian troops “systematically raped” 25 Ukrainian girls and 14-year-old women after they were found hiding together in Bucha. Lyudmila Denisova, the nation’s human rights commissioner, told the BBC that the victims had been attacked after being found “in the basement of a house in Bhutan”, the brutal suburb of the capital Kiev where hundreds of bodies had been found.
