The two games on Sunday that took place did not disappoint. The first saw the Houston Gamblers marginally hold back a furious comeback from the Michigan Panthers, whose ambitious winning touchdown in the final game did not end in the final zone. The Gamblers won Sunday’s first game 17-12 as Mark Thompson ran 13 times for 71 yards. Shea Patterson had 17 of 25 for 192 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers, but the general also had three points (lost one) in defeat – part of Michigan’s nine games a day. In the second of Sunday’s three scheduled games – before the postponement – the New Orleans Breakers took advantage of the Philadelphia Stars’ first-half errors to create an early lead, then found an offensive flow in the second half and kept it at 23-17. win. Jordan Ellis had the “green” touchdown from two meters to start the fourth quarter that gave the Breakers the lead for good. The Stars faced a 9-0 deficit before taking a rally to level at 17-17 in the third quarter. Darnell Holland rushed for a score of 42 yards to equalize the game in the third quarter, as the Stars scored 10 points in the fourth. Select the checkbox to confirm that you want to sign up.

Mistakes have plagued Philadelphia all afternoon. Stars general Bryan Scott threw a cut to Vontae Diggs who returned 37 yards for a touchdown to bring the Breakers 7-0. New Orleans also blocked a Matt Mengel kick for safety. Mengal also missed two fields, one of 45 yards and the other of 44 yards. The Breakers had six bags in the win, with Dave Bellamy scoring three of them. We had already seen a thriller in the Birmingham Stallions victory at the start of the season on Saturday night, and both Sunday games were also close. All three winners were from the Southern Division of the league so far – here is a look at the standings – and all scores were within six points. Following is a look at the scores on Sunday set: SATURDAYBirmingham Stallions 28, New Jersey Generals 24 SUNDAYHouston Gamblers 17, Michigan Panthers 12 (final) New Orleans Breakers 23, Philadelphia Stars 17 (final) MONDAY Tampa Bay Bandits vs. Pittsburgh Maulers, 7 p.m. ET, FS1, fuboTV (PPD from Sunday due to rain) Here are our conclusions from Sunday’s games (you can relive the best moments and updates on the live blog below).
Because the Houston Gamblers won
The Gamblers took advantage of two upset by a Panthers attack that failed to score in the first half, using a shot by Shea Patterson and another fumble by Paxton Lynch to score two touchdowns that gave them a 17-0 lead at halftime. Michigan had nine rebounds, lost two of the generals facing a two-game deficit (in the USFL a team can score up to nine points with possession).
Because the Michigan Panthers lost
The Panthers had three balls in the second quarter, highlighting the inconsistent play of the generals throughout the afternoon between Patterson and Lynch. The Panthers actually completed as many passes in the first half as they did (five), which led to 14 points from the Gamblers. The return to the second half was too great to be overcome due to the errors of the first half.
Because the New Orleans Breakers won
Give some praise to the New Orleans attack that found its rhythm in the second half, after losing a score in its first six possessions. The Breakers wore a Stars defense on the ground, rushing for 171 yards and two touchdowns on the way to score a touchdown in successive possession for the win. 58 of these rushing yards came in these two scoring.
Why the Philadelphia Stars lost
The mistakes of the special teams cost the stars in it. Two conceded goals from the field brought six points off the board and a blocked punt led to safety from the Breakers – damaging all of Philadelphia’s offensive progress in the first half. Bryan Scott also threw a cut that returned for a touchdown to put the Stars at 7-0 early in the game. The Stars gave the Breakers nine points and missed an opportunity for six of them in the attack. They lost by six.
The game of the day
The players had a 3-0 lead with the Panthers leading in the red zone before the defensive end, Ahmad Gooden had to dig Shea Patterson as Reggie Northrup got the recovery 87 yards back for the score and gave Houston an impressive lead 11-0. start the second quarter. Patterson stumbled to start the game, but Gooden took advantage of the situation. It ended with three forced characters and two sacks.
