The Apple M1 family The brand new MacBook Air featuring a standard M2 chipset at the wheel with 8 CPU cores and 10 GPU cores. Gurman also mentions a basic MacBook Pro with an unspecified screen size with the same chipset specifications as the M2 MacBook Air. The M2 Pro and M2 Max chips will power the next generation 14 and 16 inch MacBook Pro. The M2 Max is said to have 12 CPU cores and 38 GPU cores. Apple is also working on a Mac Mini that will use the M2 Pro chip and a new Mac Pro that is said to have the M2 Max chip as well as an even more powerful chip that could be called M2 Ultra or M2 Extreme – successor to the M1 Ultra Chip of Mac Studio. With WWDC 2022 coming in June, we hope to hear more about Apple’s plans for new M2 chipsets and devices. Source (paywall)
