By Liam McConnell Posted July 29, 2022 at 6:53 pm Kensworth Francis (left) is wanted after two men were killed and a woman was injured in a shooting. The identity of the man wanted in the double homicide of two security guards at a Vaughan nightclub has been released and he is the subject of a Canada-wide warrant. Police officers across the country are on the lookout for Kensworth Alton Francis, 27, of Mississauga on two counts of first degree murder and one count of attempted murder. Two security guards, Tosin Amos-Arowoshegbe, 25, of Toronto, and Chibueze Momah, 22, of Mississauga, were working late guarding the ATL Lounge, a Vaughan nightclub on July 24. A fight broke out sometime during the night. After the fight, the people involved left the establishment. However, police say those involved were due to return soon. The gunshots shattered the quiet of the night around 3:30 a.m. on July 24. According to Momah’s aunt, Maureen Mrabure, the gunman opened fire outside the club, hitting Amos-Arowoshegbe, Momah and an unidentified 20-year-old female patron. Amos-Arowoshegbe and Momah succumbed to their injuries before police arrived. The police found the young woman injured but in a stable condition and she was rushed to the hospital. According to Mrabure, “Eze was killed on duty when a shooter returned to the club and unable to enter the front doors, began firing multiple rounds through the glass. Eze, unfortunately, was hit blindly from behind and had no chance of survival as a bullet hit his carotid artery.” Mrabure started a Gofundme to cover Momah’s funeral expenses. In her description of the fundraiser she confirmed that Momah was a foreign student from Nigeria who had just graduated from Durham College. The money raised will also go towards sending his parents and siblings to the service. Days after the murders, York Regional Police released security footage and images from the ATL Lounge showing a suspect and an acquaintance approaching and entering the club. The images have been released in the hope of identifying the prime suspect. Apparently it worked. Police announced on July 29 that a Canada-wide arrest warrant had been issued for Francis. The suspect lives in Mississauga and is believed to have immigrated from the Bahamas. Investigators describe Francis as a thin black man. He was wearing a white and black shirt the night of the shooting. Francis should be considered armed and dangerous, police say. If you see him, don’t approach him. Instead, call 911 immediately. Police advise Francis to get a lawyer and turn himself in. As Francis is now a fugitive, helping him evade capture in any way could lead to aiding and abetting charges. Anyone with video evidence or information about the shooting or who knows the whereabouts of Francis can call the YRP Homicide Unit at 1-866-876-5423 ext. 7865 Or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-(TIPS) insauga Editorial Standards and Policies
