WhatsApp has presented in detail its new community function that is coming to the application. The company has also announced a number of other features, including the ability to share larger files, emoji reactions and more.
WhatsApp has officially recognized several upcoming features. The company has written a blog post detailing all the new options coming into the chat app, including running communities, perhaps one of the biggest additions to the platform in years. According to WhatsApp, the communities will include a collection of separate groups. They will allow organizations such as schools, local clubs and non-profit organizations to be under an umbrella and make things more efficient. “People can receive updates sent to the whole community and easily set up smaller discussion groups for what interests them,” the company wrote in a blog post. Community managers will have powerful tools to control which groups can be included. They will also be able to convey message messages to everyone in the community. In addition, WhatsApp ensures that conversations within communities will be encrypted end-to-end. There is no specific date for when the communities will come to the platform, but it will not be long now. Meanwhile, more immediate WhatsApp updates include things we’ve been hearing about for the past two days. You will soon be able to respond to messages using emojis. Group managers will be able to remove incorrect messages from everyone’s conversations. The file sharing limit will be increased to 2 GB. Finally, one-touch voice calls will now allow up to 32 people to chat with each other. Once again, there is also no word on when all these new features will appear on WhatsApp. We will update this article when we have more details. Comments
