The 63-year-old was attacked around tea time on Saturday at her home near the village train station. Police have confirmed that an investigation into the murder is ongoing and a man has been arrested. It appears that the man arrested knows the victim. Detective Inspector PSNI Foreman said: “We received a report around 6.10pm. that a woman had been stabbed at a property on Victoria Avenue in Whitehead. “Officers were present, along with colleagues from the Ambulance Service of Northern Ireland. “Unfortunately, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene. “A man has been arrested and is currently in custody. At this stage we are not looking for other suspects. “Our investigation is at an early stage. However, I will appeal to anyone who has information to contact us at 101 stating the reference number 1502 of 16/04/22. “Information can also be obtained from the independent charity Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111, which is 100% anonymous.”
