is going to appear before the Criminal Court this morning, Friday 15 April 2022 at 10.30 am. Ms Bergin was found dead in a Seville Place home around 11:50 a.m. Tuesday. An autopsy-necropsy was performed earlier this week. Gardaí was alerted to the tragedy when the female suspect was spotted acting in a “troubled state” by locals. The suspect was not previously known to gardaí. A local told the Sunday World that she was shocked to hear the sad news. “To hear something like this happen to a woman in her 80s is terrible,” he said. Mary, also known as Maura, was known for her involvement with the church and was very helpful to the community. Another local reportedly described Ms Bergin as an “angel”. Gardai said he was continuing to “investigate all circumstances” after the murder and had called for witnesses who might be able to help with their investigation. “Gardaí was present at the scene around 11.50am,” they said. “An 80-year-old woman was found dead inside the property with fatal injuries.
