The incident occurred around 3.40 am today on the M6 motorway heading south between junctions 38 and 37 in Cumbria. The woman, in her 40s, was driving a red Toyota IQ and collided with a white Scania truck towing a Morrisons trailer liried in the early hours of the morning. The driver of the Toyota was transported to the Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured. The other two lanes remain closed due to ongoing accident investigation work on the M6 Southbound. Police are calling for drivers who may have seen any vehicle to arrive this morning. A statement from Cumbria police said, “We are calling witnesses or anyone with a dashboard video to contact officers after a collision on the M6 today (April 17) at approximately 3.40 am. white Scania truck towing a Morrisons trailer and a red Toyota IQ. “The driver of the truck was not injured. The driver of the Toyota, a woman in her forties, was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries.
